Qingdao Expo

Pavilion for the International Horticultural Exhibition
Qingdao, Shandong, China
2014
Client: City of Qingdao
Status: built

From the point of view of the shape, the incorporation of the pavilion to natural landscape that characterizes the city of Qingdao is pursued.

The pavilion is designed to self-work, as far as possible. Energy required for air conditioning is obtained from the ground through underground wells. Solar panels provide electricity needed for machinery and lighting. Rainwater is collected and used for irrigation and humidity control through evapotranspiration.
